8th Grade Capstone Projects
8th Grade Capstone Projects
Based on their Capstone research papers on a topic of their choice, 8th graders create works that communicate a personal response to their research.
Through a variety of brainstorming exercises students find an emotional focus for their work and tell the story from a unique perspective.
Sketching and material exploration help students edit and revise their ideas into impactful imagery.
Students also discuss contemporary artists' mixed media works, and learn how to create a unified work that draws viewers in, allows them to make connections, and helps them understand the artist's point of view.
